New Guy Here
Hello. I'm new to this forum as of today. I am a retired, 58 year old man who has decided to learn to play guitar. I have a Fender Squier electric that I am learning on because electric is easier on the fingers. I have been doing a lot of research on the Zager EZ Play guitars and may get one down the line. What is your opinion on this?

Hi there Rick
Welcome to the forum!
To be honest, I'm a little in the dark when it comes to the Zager brand of guitars, so there's not much I could offer in the way of an opinion. SORRY!

Welcome to the forums, Rick
Unfortunately, I don't have any personal experience with Zager guitars, but they do get pretty good reviews it seems. Check here or here to see some of those if you haven't already. The overall scoring on harmony-central (for other guitars as well) is pretty biased towards the higher scores, but some of the reviewed Zagers had ~100 responses and scored extremely well, which seems a good sign. "Extremely easy to play" and "plays and sounds as good as the more expensive guitars, but costs only a fraction" are terms you'll encounter a lot. Hope that helped

Welcome Rick! This is a great place to learn and you're just the right age - half the members here are between 40-60 I believe (there's a poll of people's ages in the polling section if you want to see the actual numbers).

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
