Hails all..

Just picked up my first guitar the other day, searching to web to learn what to do with this thing.

Starting a little older than most I assume, at 42 years young. Been told it's a mixed bag for folks my age, but willing to give it a go. Looking to actually learn to play rather than just pick out a few songs and claim I know what I am doing. Any advice, etc. would be more than welcome... Thanks in advance!

I am 36+ years old and picked the guitar back up after a 20 year absence. PRACTICE is key. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. I may never be on a stage but I want to be good enough to have that chance. I wish I started earlier and never sold any of my equipment but that was then, this is NOW. Again: PRACTICE is key.

Welcome and good luck. Keep us posted on your lessons.

Welcome, I started two years ago at 55. No problem, if you apply yourself.

Hey welcome. Lots of folks more 'mature' than you here. Well, OK, just more older.
