Howdy
Nice to meet you all.
Just turned 50, never played an instrument before but decided to play the guitar for no good reason, just because I can I guess.
Started taking Flamenco guitar lessons from a local player who plays traditional Flamenco accompaniment for dancers and singers. Eventually I will be invited to accompany the dancers along with my instructor when I learn to hold a decent rhythm along with some basic chord changes.
I am also, interested in playing blues. So, along with this intro. my first question/request is what's possible on the nylon string guitar with regards to the blues? I know that much of the earlier Delta blues were played on nylon strings. However, I'm not that familiar with the music and would love to hear about some of your recommendations of any nylon string blues music to get an idea of what's possible.
As a complete beginner and newbie to the site I look forward to lots of reading of past posts and learning from the experience gained by all of you folks, thanks for passing it around.

Hi to you Marc and welcome. I'm not really familiar with that syle of music either so I can't really give any recommendations other than to familiarise yourself with the great artists of that era e.g. Blind Lemon Jefferson, Big Bill Broonzy, Mississippi John Hurt, Son House, etc. and try to emulate what you hear.

Hello Marc and welcome to the site...
Flamenco is s very interesting and very difficult style to play on the guitar.It is certainly for a classic guitar with nylon strings.It takes a lot af practice to learn to play this style,I wish you the best of luck!...

Hmmm. Blues on a nylon. Some of the early players with a strong straight finger picking style like Blind Willie could be played quite nicely on a classical. You run into problems when you get into the more lively blues stuff with lots of slides, bends and hammer ons and pull offs.
Try some Blind Blake, Big Bill Broonzy or Blind Willy Mc'tell.
An early Texas blues player like Blind Lemon Jefferson would also be a good choice.
