Finally introducing myself..........

Great site you all have here! My name is Mark-33 y/o from Michigan,U.S. and have been playing guitar for a year. I have visited this site off and on throughout that year and I decided it is finally time to get involved, in hopes in learning more and sharing it with others. I initially borrowed my Grandpa's acoustic but in no time at all decided I wanted an electric........My first guitar was a Stratocaster Standard (FatStrat). I debated for a while about which to learn on since I'd like to play both the acoustic and electric. I decided that I primarily wanted to play electric so that's what I went with......After messing around for a couple months and learning some chords I decided lessons would make me commit a little more. It has been a rewarding journey-although frustrating as heck at times. I had a Line 6 Spider series amp and after a few months found myself upgrading both-sold the guitar and amp to a friend and bought a american deluxe fat strat and fender blues junior-I'm realizing how addicting it is even from the beginning about finding a tone that you want!!!!! Anyway, thanks for reading- I'll see ya around!

Glad you're here mritech75. Sounds like you're pretty well focused on what you want to do. It is frustrating starting out...that's what I'm doing too, taking some lessons for the same reason, but I'm gonna hang in there. I just love guitar after soooo many years behind the drums.

That's cool.........I always wanted to play drums.....but they take up more room and have to be loud to play them-which the wife and baby wouldn't go for right now. I wish I had the interest in guitar or drums when I was a kid-guess i was too busy with school and sports. I'm hooked on guitar for life now! Good luck to ya!

Hi Mark welcome to the forum, I'm a bit older than you, I've strolled in and out of playing guitar since I was twelve but took it up seriously about two years ago, I play mainly acoustic at the moment, it is great fun playing and learning, good to see your enjoying it

Best Wishes

Chris

I would just like to finish up this thread by saying thank you to all for being so friendly! It seems to be a very informative site and a great place to make friends with other guitar players. It also really helps to get some personal feedback on topics that i have googled because you can't always find exactly the topic and/or answers you're looking for. Thanks and rock on! (you can add any genre you play in there). Mark
