.....2 weeks down
Hey everyone:
My name is Ed, from Indiana.
I started to learn about 2 weeks ago. I'm just now to the point where my fingers aren’t killing me! It’s been a fun start but has been harder than I expected. I’m trying self study. I think it is going well. Playing guitar has been a lifelong desire but somehow I never have got around to it. At 47 years old I guess I’m a late starter. Over Christmas the kids got a “Rock Band” video game. We all had a blast playing it. It got me thinking that It would be much more fun to play the real thing than to play the video game. So here I am. My kids are also interested and want me to teach them (they don’t yet realize that I can’t play either).
A few weeks ago I picked up a used electric guitar and a practice amp.I’m interested in playing blues and classic rock and a bit of country music.
This site has been a great help. I check it often and I’m not yet through all of the posted lessons.
Thanks to all of the participants on the forums.
Best Regards
Ed

I probably never listen to how other songwriters write their songs, I just write on using my own imagination. windsong

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
