where to start

Hi gang new guy here, I've been messing with guitar for about 13 years now but not constant. On a month off for 6 the past 8 years and was wondering where to start. Any suggestions?

I've had no lessons, just playing from tab or chord progression and can move around fret board but don't know my way around at all

Welcome Krist, Use the chord progressions you know and see if you can find some songs that you can play with the chord knowledge you know, what you need to do is get some structure in your practice working on chord changes and making them coherent, drifting aimlessly may be the reason you lose interest you need to define what you want out of guitar playing, check out Kirks lessons and also the Members lessons all these can teach you and help you get some structure into your practice, I personally like writing and working out my own songs but I have to also practice other stuff to keep me out of my comfort zone.
So ask yourself some questions, Why do I want to play guitar? what style do I want to play? How good do I want to be? Do I want to do my own stuff or learn songs from Artists I like? etc.

Have fun with your playing Krist, we all lose direction but practicing can keep us focussed and the rewards are great
