I wanna rock!!!

Hey

After years of waiting I have finally got my hands on an electric guitar (courtesy of my lovely boyfriend). I have wanted to rock my socks off for ages and now my opportunity has presented itself.

I have gotten my book but this site seems to be one that will assist me greatly in this journey. The book is good for the theory behind how to play a guitar but this site seems to offer practical and easily accessible advice.

The only real problem I have faced thus far is the fact I have particularly small hands (hands like a bairn - I call them). Does anyone know of any exercises I can do to help me stretch them or assist me with this?

Hope you all learn to rock - we all know it will take time and practise but who knows this site could to help produce the next Jimi or Frusciante!!!!

The same stretches as any other player would use. Your hand and body position will have to be more precise to maximize your hand movement.. Angus Young of AC/DC seems to do quite well with tiny hands so it is do-able.

Hi Christie1985, agree with allthumbs, a lot of your stretching exercise will come as you progress with chords but here are some straightforward ones that involve moving up to the wider part of the neck so they will help you to get the hang of stretching, hope this helps a bit and welcome to the forum.

It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
