Welcome sorry can't answer that one, I probably couldn't afford it either....I go by how one feels and sounds to me when choosing.

Best is all relative. There are so many boutique guitars out there that there is no one guitar to point to anymore.

Welcome to the forum.
Guitars,so many to choose from. Your ear and playing them is the final answer. Of course, that also goes along with buget and type of music you like to do.

Welcome 79Lespaul.

When first contemplating which guitar I'm gonna get, I look at how much I'm prepared to spend and go from there.
Maybe something along those lines might be the way to go for you 79Lespaul.

There are so many great choices. And cool is a relative thing!! If you're looking to get an acoustic in that price range, play some Taylors, Martins, and some Larrivees to see what suits you. You just need to pick one up and play it and see if it speaks to you! That's what I did when picking up my Taylor, almost 9 years ago now!

If it's electric, wow, some great choices. Again, just pick them up and play them. Besides looks and playability, one of the things to look at in an electric is adjustablility. There are some great choices for brand name ones like Gibson LP's, Fender Strats and PRS. Check out the Buying a Guitar sticky in the Guitar Gear forum.

And welcome aboard....

Welcome, It's your website aswell . The guitar I hanker for at the moment is the Fender VG strat. I've seen it in action, and I was really impressed.

WOW, money to burn yipee! If it was my shopping list and based on what I have for me it would be.......
1, American Delux Strat - I love mine and its very versatile with the S1 pick up switch and the build quality is great. You really get a great buzz evry time you pick one up. Buy Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster online at Musician's Friend

2, Les Paul - Gibson of course, I dont own one but I have very modded epi custom with all gibson USA parts ands its great for blues and rock. Not the same versatility of the strat but a dream axe

3, All of the above - Well not quite its a line 6 Variax, I have had one for just over year now and I find my self going back to this guitar more and more. It models all the great models as well as some fairly good acoustic/banjo and sitar models. I have now paired it up with a Pod X3 live and there is no combo on the planet that can compete with this setup IMHO

Buy Line 6 Variax 600 Guitar online at Musician's Friend

I would just go into your nearest guitar shop and wave the cash at the best assistant and spend the day playing nice guitars.
