Ahoy-hoy!

Hi, I'm Adam and I'm also a newbie. I got a nylon-string acoustic guitar many years ago and it sat in my closet as I had no idea how to use it. A few months ago I picked up a DVD, read a few Web sites and began practicing.

I still have no idea what I'm doing, but I think I'm starting to begin to learn.

Not to drag this out too long, but I've been really impressed with this site and I'm excited to keep learning and hopefully sharing with others here. As I said, I play an acoustic now (which feeds my folkie needs) but have mentally toyed with the idea of someday going electric. Perhaps. Also, I'm a leftie and I know just about nothing about music. My main interests are to have fun and to figure out a subject that has baffled me my whole life: playing music.

Thanks!

Adam

Hi and Welcome Adam.

Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
