Need ORIENTATION

Hey, guys... I'm kinda new to this whole thing (it took me a while to figure out how to post something) but I really need your help. I just got this new acoustic electric guitar for christmas and this cute guitar strap. It comes with a black string atached to the hole in the end of the strap, but I don't know how am I supposed to use it. I've seen that many guitar straps come with similar strings...but still I can't figure out what its function is. Can somebody please enlighten me?????

Thanks

Not quite sure what your one is like, but some acoustic guitars only have something to attach a strap to on the end of the body and need some string to tie around the headstock at the other end.

That make sense?

if your guitar has two strap buttons, you don't need to use the string

Hi Danniely,

If you don't like using the string Martin makes a nice little strap that you thread under the stings (the six on the guitar) and button it to the strap. Google with "Martin leather guitar strap button" and you will find them and photos. About $6 and well worth it IMO.
