Never to old to learn, Right?

Started learning to play when I was about 13 or 14 from a friend who was the same age, I didn't stick with it...........he did. I'm just picking it up again after about 30 years. He went on to win probably every major flat-pick contest/championship there is, including Winfield. I guess talent plus perseverance pays off. If I spend the rest of my life learning and get to be 1/1000 the guitar player he is, I'll be satisfied. So here we go, fingers are already sore, but I can play a few more chords. This site is a God-send. Can't believe the knowledge that's being shared for free. Already learned a bit. Thank you all.

Welcome to the site jvhende64. The forum has many people who came back to guitar later in life so you're in good company.

Hi jvhende64, You're younger than me so I'd obviously say you're never too old, there are some members here in their 70s so we're still youngsters really, the sore fingers will callous up in a few weeks but have a break if they get too sore, a couple of days off lets them harden up a bit. Welcome to the forum, this site is pretty cool and also very friendly it's helped me a lot

Hi! Similar story.... age 52, played at age 13 for a few years. Always fingerstyle - I could never, ever get used to a pick! Bought a Taylor in May of this year and just loving every minute of playing again.

  Thanks

Thank you all for the "Welcomes" and advice. Looking forward to staying in touch as I learn and grow. Ultimately want to play bluegrass, but love many types of music. Really interested in learning to play John Denver and James Taylor songs initially.
