Hi Mrdboy, funny story. It's not unusual for that to happen with beginners so don't worry about it too much.

Howdy. Remember when tuning that if your not sure if you have passed the right pitch or not, tune back down. You won't break strings that way.

Hi Mrdboy, that is a funny. Thanks for sharing. Another tip I seem to remember from another life, always tune up into the note, if you pass and become sharp, go down enough to have to come back up. I'm sure someone else here could explain that far better than I just did.

I bet that has happened to a lot more people than will admit it!
When I 1st started tuning I was working away and turning the wrong knob for the string I was tuning and broke a string. I was lucky I had an extra and a friend who showed me how to restring!
Good luck and welcome!

Keep your ears open for a new band in Sweden called Lava Engine. My friend, Thomas , is the bass player and backup vocalist in the band. They are pretty good.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
