Hey.

Just joined the forums. Anyway, I'm actually looking for help. I started playing guitar about 3 years ago but never really practised or took it seriously. I joined becuase I got bored of playing piano for 7 years and saw that my friend had started playing about a year ago from that time. It was all great fun for the first month. Then...well everything started to slow down. I hardly practised and my teacher(s) could tell. Yes, I've been to more than one teacher blaming them for me not doing good. I've stuck with this one guy now for a bit and he seems alright. I still don't practise.

I joined these forums looking for help. I really want to get started playing again and am willing to set an hour or two aside each day to practise, but need some material. I know the basics but I'm looking for songs to play. Some easy ones. I like all types of music so any songs will do. I just really need to stick to it. I also have a bad habit of just learning a verse of one song and switching to another...it's really a mess. If anyone has any tips or suggestions for me, then let me hear 'em. I'll be around the forums too looking for stuff. Thanks

Welcome Capn. In addition to the excellent lessons here, you might want to try a the tab site such as Chordie.com for songs you can play. Another good site to check out is Justin Sandercoe's beginner lessons at Justinguitar.com.

Welome aboard Capn, everyone has their own idea of how long they want to practice, if you can pick up the guitar most days and give a little time (doesn't have to be 2 hours) for practice you'll benefit from it.
