Hey
Just got my first guitar today, tried to jam a little but that doesn't seem to work out too well.. so i started looking for a website to offer some starting details, that's how I got here
Anyway, the reason why I want to learn to play the guitar is because I've been playing way too much guitar hero (some of you must know of it, i hope) and really fell for the idea of actually being able to play those songs (and impress friends and foes alike!!).
So... off I go, wish me luck ^^
PS: I got my guitar through mail and for some reason one of the screws on the front tune-o-matic was loose in the box and he bridge itself is sticking halfway in there, should I return it or could that easily be fixed at a guitar shop?

Welcome aboard, Tom. Playing the real thing is a bit harder than Guitar Hero, but it's nothing you can't overcome with the "Three P's" - Patience, Practice and Persistence! Playing the guitar is a lot of fun - enjoy!

Hi Tom, Welcome to the forum. A guitar shop could fix that for you but you shouldn't spend your own money on it if you bought it brand new I'd send it back and get a replacement or ask for a discount as it should be in good condition when you buy it and it is still under warranty, just my opinion. Guitar hero is pretty cool

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
