I'm from Singapore.
I'm new to here, new to guitar
Planning to learn the guitar at a music school starting Aug.
Gonna learn pop guitar cos i just wanna play it leisurely.

Anyway, i need help and tips on choosing a guitar.

Anyone can provide some tips and guide on choosing a guitar for a beginner like me?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If you post some details on how much you want to spend and such, someone will certainly be able to help you out.

Actually, i haven't been doing much of a research.
Just pondered upon this forum when i search on Yahoo

Since i am new, i don't think i'll wanna spend too much on it.
And i don't really know how much a decent guitar would cost for a beginner.
Maybe anything which is less than SGD 150.00?

Any Singaporeans out there who can advise me which shop is a nice place to get guitar for beginners?
Cos if not, i'll probably just get from the music school if they have (i.e. Funkies Monkies Production)

Any peeps here from that school or know that school?

Actually i'm pretty much inspired by Chinese female singers like Penny Tai, Cheer Chen, Tanya Chua..
I think it's pretty cool to learn an instrument that you can carry around and entertain your friends
That's my main motivation for learning guitar

Oh.. And i'm a shortie, only 1.55m.
My hands are average for my height, not too big nor too small.
I know there are guitars for small people. Am i right?

Hi Dadedum46, The music school should be able to advise you on a guitar, if you want to try one, check out your local music store and ask to look at a few, your choice of guitar depends on what you want to play, I don't know the price of guitars in Singapore, if any of your friends play they might help you out, guitars vary in sizes so you shouldn't have trouble finding one. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your music lessons.

Cheers

Chris
