Unhappy Hi Allz :D

hello every one
I bought my first guitar 3 months ago... it was an accoustic (Ibanez) i learned a few chords with it.. but i didnt like training on it... it is verry hard for the fingers, so i bought the second one after 15 days of purchasing the first, no luck... its a electronic guitar also (Ibanez) it is easier to train on but really small for me... i trained on both till i got me a tutor about a month ago... and he told me that those guitars are for profesionals lol... so i went and bought me a classic (nylon) guitar By Fender... this is my best guitar ever.

I am 22 years old... started to play the guitar 3 months ago... now i know all major and minor chords... i got all of them from the net... but i dont like what ive learned... im a fast learner and i have musical ears but donnu what to do next... my tutor isnt that good, im taking this last lesson from him next thursday and dumping him... ive learned alot of songs... from the net, books and sheets from the tutor... but the hard songs i still cant play... i want to learn more and more, but im stuck...

please people... any suggestions?

Hi GW. Do you know all your major and minor bar chords too? Do you know the inversions for each chord? You might want to start looking at extended chords like 9th etc as well as passing chords like augmented and diminished chords. Sounds like you have made a lot of progress in 3 months. Finger picking might unstick you so start on the lessons and see where they take you. The theory with each lesson will help you begin to understand the inner workings of music. At some point in the future when you have a lot of the above down, you might want to buy Kirks' Plane Talk material. It will get you into playing improv and knowing the fretboard like the back of your hand among other things, but get the basics down first.

Start by reviewing these basic lessons to make sure you have them down. There is a lesson on bar chords. They are pretty simple to understand, playing them cleanly is the trick as other members will tell you. Just remember that major bar chords are named by the 1 or 6 string that the index finger covers while minor bar chords are named by where on the neck the index finger covers the 5th string or root note. Your just playing your everyday open chords with a bar beneath them.
Brand new to playing the guitar?...read this first.
Scroll down on the main page to free lessons. You will see Kirk has about 70 of them and Nelsonite has lessons on strumming etc. That is enough to keep you busy for some time. Really pay attention to the theory lessons above the tabs. They are gold.
Just ask any questions you have. There are tons of good folks here who will be happy to help you.
