Hi From Madrid, Spain!

Hey y'all,
Actually, this is my "re-Introduction" to the forum... because of work/travelling comittments it's been quite a while since I last visited (over 6mths!). The 'new' site and changes are just fine.

I've been playing the guitar for many, many, many years and fortunately I'm able to make my living my gigging full-time. (I'm originally from London, but for the past 16 years I've been living and working in Spain)

I've had countless teachers, of every style of guitar imaginable and I haven't stopped looking for 'new' lessons or tricks!

As far as musical styles: "everything-under-the-sun". I find every musical style interesting!

I could probably write chapters on the guitars and gear that I have but at the end of the day - the 'tool doesn't make the workman'!

Keep on pluckin' everyone!
Chris

My 2cents as far as the site changes are concerned:
It's good to see that some 'free' stuff is available but I think that the decision to charge a small fee for downloadable lessons is absolutely correct and more than fair considering band-width costs aren't free!!!!!!

In the past I made a small donation in appreciation of the excellent work and stuff available here. Kirk, Clancy & Co. do an excellent job!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!!!

I've got quite a busy gig schedule for the next 18 months or so but hopefully I'll get some quality time to look in and perhaps add my few cents of thoughts/opinions!

Hi goldfinga, do you play any Spanish style guitar? I was in Madrid once and was determined to buy some 'Boots of Spanish Leather'. It was a long time later that I learned that Dylan had used the word 'Spanish' only because of the rhyme and 'aura' of the word, and that the actual boots he had bought were Italian. Damm

Hi Carol, Actually, when I first started learning (as a 8 year old kid) my parents sent me to an academy to learn "spanish classical guitar" (Andres Segovia type thang!).. but I rarely play this style other than "at home" or maybe in soundchecks just to prove that I can play other stuff and not just "plug-it-in, turn it up to 20 and let it rip!" LOL

As for the boots - hehehe, well there are 'typical' spanish style boots (the leather is quite corse), but the italian boots (and shoes) are more know for their finer qualities. Having said that, in my experience neither boots/shoes are adequate when it rains!
