this time I will prevail
I bought my current acoustic guitar (takamine) in 1976 and every year or so would drag it out and attempt to learn to play. Usually after an hour or so I threw it back in the case out of frustration. In 2006 I am determined to keep plugging away and finally practise and learn enough so to me playing it sounds good and my frustration levels don't rise.

Hi hihosilver
Welcome from a fellow Queenslander.
Nice to have you here... I notice in your profile you're a ex radio jock. Not that I listen to much radio, but which station were you on?
Good luck with your new years resolution. I didn't make any myself... I guess that's because by now I know I never keep 'em
Welcome.
Clancy

Welcome aboard,
I think you have a very good chance of sticking it out with your new support group.
Best of luck and don't give up.

hihosilver
I worked in radio as a jock starting in Cairns at 4CA in 76 (like millions of other hopefuls) then worked at 3GL geelong, got into news journalism at 3CS colac, 3MP melbourne, 2KO newcastle , 2TM tamworth and 4TO Townsville, I had access to terrific, largely non commercial guitar music at a lot of these country stations which made me a huge fan but also a frustrated player especially after meeting musicians/singers who made playing look so easy. I got out of radio after 20 years and now work in Page Ranking which happily means no 3.30am starts. I am originally from geelong, still support the cats, but attended my last game in the 60's.
thanks for your welcome, I am delighted to be here and will be seeking your assistance/advice when i get hung up as i surely will

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
