Hi from the Great Northwest!

Great site, I have been observing for some time and find the lessons and tips of great value. My home is in Auburn, Washington, south of Seattle. My first experience with the guitar was when I was in grade school in the 50's and my parents bought me a lap steel and lessons. I played maybe six years and gave it up.

I began playing again last October, when I bought a starter Ibanez. I recently upgraded to a very nice Yamaha. My preferred style is finger picking and music wise, I am all over the board. I continue to struggle with strumming but I figure hard working will payoff at some point.

A fellow worker, who has played professionally, recently asked me why I never told him I played guitar. I replied that I was only a beginner without much time at it. "We are all beginners," he said with a smile. I suddenly realized how true that was. Ergo, my first post and maybe I can contribute.

Thanks,

John
