Beginner in Charlotte
Hey guys and gals.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a young fella living in Charlotte, NC and I have just decided to pick up the electric guitar. I am coming from a violin background so the transition shouldn't be too difficult. (hopefully). Anyone with tips or suggestions feel free to let me know. In the meantime, I'll continue hacking away!

Hi there. You're right, the violin background should help a lot.

Hey thanks-I'm really excited and I'm just trying to get my chords down. My fingers don't want to co-operate at times but I'll whip em into shape.

Welcome to GFB&B, BackToBlack - we've all been there with the fingers not cooperating. Give 'em some time and practice, they'll get with the program!

Welcome! The world is certainly a small place sometimes. I just moved from Charlotte (Steele Creek) to Minneapolis last year.

I read somewhere that learning to play was a sort of negotiation between you and your guitar. I now believe it.

Yeah, Steele Creek is northwest of Pineville. 485 takes you around to Hwy 160, which runs right up into Steele Creek.
Good times, good times.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
