Welcome, Joe. There are plenty of lessons and resources here to help you turn your noise into sweet music. Kirk and the other lesson contributors have put a lot of time and effort into their lessons for us all, and there are plenty to work on. Have fun!

I'm smack dab in the middle of the "noise" phase as well, so I know what you mean. Good luck!
I read somewhere that learning to play was a sort of negotiation between you and your guitar. I now believe it.
So much to learn, so many callouses to build.™
