Huey
Hi there,
I had the good luck to find this site from Kirk himself !!!
He was playing with the "Smokin Crawdads" and they were really smokin.
At the Caloundra RSL Club, it was the 3rd time I'd gone down to see them, they are so good.
Andy on a base that looks like its got 6 strings just pushes and drives the whole thing, drummer is crisp and tight, keyboards are always strong often punching into the song, Mick on rhythm and voice is good enough to do it all on his own, and Kirk.
He was calmly looking around like it was a day off, and stretching these way out chords into the mix. And good songs too.
I offered to buy the guys a beer when they came to the bar between sets, Kirk settled for a coke and a glass of water – but how good is it when a famous good guy sits down and quietly tells you his story . . ?
Made my day, and thanks Kirk, it’s a really great website.
May you stay forever young.
Huey

Hi, Huey, thanks for joining in. Yes, I sure do enjoy playing with the Smokin Crawdads. Mick Martin is such a great guitarist, it's a sheer pleasure sharing the stage with him. An old friend and wonderful drummer Doug Gallagher has now joined. He was the drummer on the long running TV show the Midday Show, and I also spent many hours doing session work with him way back when. We used to call him the 'human metronome' because he could adjust the tempo of any take instantly to fit the required 29.5 seconds for TV jingles.
We're back at that venue 2nd of June, so, see you there hopefully.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
