Hello from CT

Well, after lurking around on this site for months, I finally decided to jump in and say hello. My name is Bob, and I have been playing around with a guitar for about a year. I am older (let's just leave it that I am over 50) and always wanted to be a rock star when I grew up. However, my total lack of musical talent and complete inabilty to carry a tune has hindered my career! I started with "Guitar for Dummies" (Is there a remedial version?) and then started taking lessons about 5 months ago. I'm having fun, which is all I wanted when I started. There is so much to learn, and it is harder than I thought, but I struggle on. I have enjoyed Kirk's easy lessons, especially "Over the Rainbow" and "Silent Night". I'm working on "Unchained Melody", one of my favorite songs of all time! Thanks for this site, it has helped me a lot. Good luck to all.

Glad the site is helping you. I'm dyslexic so I feel your pain about the learning curve.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
