Greetings 6 stringers

6 Stringers and Bassists alike that is. Greetings to all. I am Dewy... Bad Monkey Guitarist and highly opinionated.

I Have been playing for... ohh, around 26 years... but took a 10 year hiatus due to exasperation with the Music Industry. Kinda liking the way the industry is looking these days, and some of my old band mates were swinging free recently needing a mature relatively drug free guitarist to pull it all together.

You should have seen the look on my Wife's face when I agreed to "sit in" with a local band last year. Having never heard me play guitar in 5 years and I was lucky enough to survive a run thru Ozzy's Crazy Train, she was floored. I am Blessed in so many ways, and she is #1 on that list. Nothing makes music better than a Happy Musician, so I owe it all to her if I do anything worth listening to.

10 years I managed to avoid tuning a damn guitar, now I own 5 and am in a band. In-laws are all stunned, Scene is amazingly receptive... I'm guessing the limits are yet to be found for these Bad Monkey's.

If ya get a chance swing by the MySpace site for the band and give us a shout, or better yet, come let your own Bad Monkey out of its cage with us one evening if your in town.

Hi Dewy. Are you in a 3 piece band with Hughie and Louie? It must feel great to be making music with other players again.

I tried to get the guys to officially change their names... no luck. Nope its DDR, Dave, Dewy & Roger. Singer recently joined the band... Terry... screwed the whole "Rip off Donald's Nephew's" thing so I dropped it.

But your right, feels absolutely amazing to unleash the beast again. Music was the driving force in my life for so many years I suffered from the imbalance and burnt out. It's GREAT to be back on the scene and receiving such a warm welcome... and the price of good gear has PLUMMETED let me tell you.

So finding this forum proves it beyond a doubt...

IT'S ALL GOOD!!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
