Hello from TX

Hello from Texas.

I've been playing several years, but never advanced beyond the campfire strumming level. I recently came across a friend's copy of Kirk's Plane Talk, and in addition to rekindling my interest in learning new techniques, it has led me to this site. I've been lurking for a while, and it looks like a friendly gathering of interesting people from all over and down under.

So, how long before I can play The Red Strat Blues like Kirk?
