Hello All
My name is Brian. I am 31 with a beautiful wife and 3 amazing children. I have wanted to play for about 10-12 years now, just never had the time or dicipline! I now take lessons with my 8 year old son, Evan. Which is good and bad. Good, because we get to spend time together and do something with just the 2 of us, (I also have 2 daughters 9 and 3). Bad, because I have WAY more interest and and desire to learn than he does. It can get frustrating when I practice everyday and he does once a week. I have to remind myself that I am his Dad and not his Instructor. Overall the good outways the bad. I am starting with an acoustic, as is Evan. I told him I will buy him an electric if he shows me that he is truly interested. (The acoustics I already had so they were free.) Not sure what else to say.......

Welcome Brian. It's good to hear that you're giving him good choices. And when he sees the results that you get from all of your practice he just may practice more than you. Time will tell. As far as you're concerned, you'll be playing well in no time at all with that amount of practice and you have a great resource with this sight which will speed your learning at light speed. Keep up the hard work. See you in the forums. Kimagori

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
