New to Guitar
I just bought an acoustic guitar and started doing a few online lessons. Wow, I guess you have to toughen up your finger tips. After practicing the scales for 5-10 minutes my finder tips were tender and soar.
I noticed that when playing the G cord that one person was shown using their 2nd,
3rd and 4th finger and another person was using their 1st, 2nd and 3rd finger. How do most people play it? Is it personal preference? Is one technique better than the other for switching cords?
A friend of mine plays guitar and says that an electric guitar is easier to play? I'm sure in the future I will by an electric but, should I buy one now to learn on or should stick with the acoustic for now?

Electric or acoustic. Different, neither better than the other. The way you finger chords is dependent on what chord follows next.
