hello
I am new at this, but I enjoy playing the guitar like all of you it easily consumes your everyday thinking if you know what I mean. I am kind of an intermediate/begginer guitarist. I don't read music but understand some, anyway, hello fellow guitarist.

Thank you, hello. What kind of music do you like to play on your guitar? I enjoy anything that sounds close to the music I try to play. Lately, Santana,i.e. Smooth.

I have question on scales. I have improvised the pentatonic scale over some jam tracks and after a while the melodic pull from my scale starts to sound the same and it gets boring. I know about chord tones, leading notes, etc., but not practicing them often. I like to improvise, but how do you come up with fresh licks when using a pentatonic scale? Thank you

No worries, rapter. We all understand that playing guitar is the most important thing in life, and posting at GFB&B is only what we do between practice sessions.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
