Greetings from Brandon!!!

I'm 64 and having the time of my life with acoustic guitar. I've been playing off and on for about 50 years, and enjoy every minute of it. I have sort of a love-hate relationship with the guitar, but it keeps me sane. I'm a BIG Tommy Emmanuel fan, and attend CAAS every year.

Mark my words....the more you get into it, the more you'll find that you are in a pretty solid brotherhood.....no matter what the skill level.

Keep on Pickin'

Ronstorm.

Welcome Joe! Tattoos & piercings at age 60? Wow I'm impressed. I'm just months behind you so there's hope for me yet. Pity all us old timers (there seems to be lots here) can't get together and form an Ol' Pharts band.

A good place to start is right here with the rest of us old guys. Learn to play the basic chords, learn to find melodies on the strings. Its all about the ears anyways. (they're good for more than just piercing). Set a realist goal say 2-3 years. Bet you can keep up before then though. What you think you can, you will!

Theory is knowing about. Practice is knowing how.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
