Hello!

Hello from Northern Michigan!

Found this site today and it looks like a great place to hang out. I'm overwhelmed at the amount of info available here, I'm sure I'll learn a lot. I'm a rookie so I won't be able to bring much to the table.

This is my second attempt at learning the guitar. I've not played one for almost 20 years and wasn't very good the first time around. I knew a few chords and was able to play a few songs but now I can't remember most of them, lol. I sing better then I play, at least my wife thinks so. I like mostly country music and some of the oldies rock is always great to hear.

I ordered a new guitar and it should be here in a couple of days, can't wait to get started again. I wish this place would have been around 20 years ago, I'd be getting paid by now, lol.

Anyway, hope you guys/gals don't mind if I pick your brains a little from time to time? I'm retired now and have lots of time on my hands to learn this stuff. I know I won't give up this time, but I'm 57 so I doubt I'll ever reach the point I'd like to be.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Kraco, welcome from an unseasonably mild North West England. I've been learning for nearly three weeks am coming up on my 52nd summer and my plan is to get a Country Music Association "Horizon" award by the time I'm 70 !! (That's if my fingers stop hurting !)

Thanks Barry!

Its been very mild here too, but it came to a screeching halt here about a week ago, fun while it lasted.

Good luck with that "Horizon" award, with the help you'll get here it just might happen. I'll be happy just to make it to 70. lol

Thanks again everyone!

Hey Kraco.. when my wife and I are shuffling round the edge of a dancefloor to Brad Paisley's "Wrapped around" it doesn't seem that fast but trying to strum along A,D,E,A etc. etc. and it seems like it's going 100 mph !!
