Hi from the UK

Hi all,
I'm John from Manchester in the UK.
I'm old enough to not remember the 60's and though I have been around bands for many years, either as crew or back up singing, sometimes both, I've had several desultory attempts to learn several instruments but never with the patience to progress.

Now I have more time, a more relaxed attitude to life and a much smaller ego. I no longer have to do things to impress. If I reach the level where I can sit in on a musicians night at the local without getting 'the look' that will be great.

If I never make it past amusing myself then that will be great too.

My main musical interests are Blues and Irish Folk, we'll gloss over the choral singing shall we? Though you'll get from that that my musical tastes are actually quite broad.

Later.

Thanks for your welcome. I'm learning so much here that I barely have time to work, let alone practice

Hi from just down the street from you in Rochdale, I've been playing almost 3 weeks now and you're right, this place is very friendly. I got my guitar from Purple Turtle in Reddish.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
