Recording Acoustic Guitar

Hi all,

I have a home studio and have always recorded, I say always but I'm more a vocalist then a guitarist, until now.

So, I want to record my acoustic.

Which is best, to mic up the guitar with an SM57 or use the semi-acoustic and record via a cable?

Are there any drawbacks to either?
