I have some pdf files and I don't know how do import them into Guitar Pro 5.
Can somebody help to import these files into guitar pro 5.

My guess is that is isn't possible to do this with software. I doubt that there is a program that can decode the PDF format and then scan the image and find the notes. I think you're going to have to do this manually. I have the complete mysongbook archive so if it's a paticular song and it's already in the archive I can send it to you.

Sorry, but it cannot be done.
The only types of files you can import to Guitar Pro 5 are MIDI, ASCII, MusicXML, PowerTab and TablEdit.

Make a txt file out of it if you can. I don't know the names but I bet there is an app that can view txt tabs pretty decently. I know that tabtoolkit for iPhone can.

Photoscore Professional by Sibelius will do this - but you may not like the price!

Maybe you were hoping for a one click solution, but If you have the tabs, you could make the file manually couldn't you?
After you've done a few, you'd get quite fast at it.

You might even learn something about the piece while you were doing it wouldn't you? I haven't done it yet, but plan to do a few pieces where the tabs are available, but no gp file.

If you made it from the notation and not the tab, you'd definitely learn something - if only how much persistence you have.

Gimp which is a free photo shop clone has a lot of file conversions. You may find a format there that GP will accept.

You can, of course, import a GuitarPro file into the program. Kinda goes without saying, but I'm saying it anyway.

if you have a .pdf editor you should be able to save them into an acceptable format and import them that way.

Love to know if you got an answer or solution for this one!

Here is something I found, tried the demo and it does work. Takes a PDF file and export as midi. Then import midi to Guitar Pro. Demo lets you create one page.
Cannot testify to what it can do for you though, or what you might be looking to do with it. Not free......

Try this link. I have it on my desk top. Here are some example pics. Today I will try the whole score.
1. Take music score and open with PDF to midi
2. Take midi file and open with Guitar pro
Thats about it.
Not free because you have to have (PDF to midi program) and (Guitar pro) to get the results but for some one who needs to
do this, it does save loads of time.

PDF to midi is a cheaper version than the PRO. Both work.

Anyone know if it works with Tux?

Be aware that it only works with PDF files that were generated with a notation editor such as GP, Finale, TablEdit, etc. I believe the PDFs need to have the notation font embedded in the PDF. It does not work if the PDF is created from scanned sheet music.

If it creates a MIDI, it should work for TUX or any notation program that imports MIDI.
