I find it horrible how much I have seen people being put down as "Bad Guitar players' when they are learning. I see people who claim to be DemiGod's of guitar, and they put down everyone around them as inferior. I know I currenly have someone like this calling me an Idiot, and it's hard to resist the urge to commit bit of an "El Kabong" if you know what I mean.
Anyone else agree that the guitar scene is getting to be a bit hostile lately?

It depends on where you go. I belong to a private jam forum that is filled with pros. They are very kind and give me their honest opinions without being harsh. I would be spooked puting anything on harmony central, those guys can be real meat eaters. Some jam forums are full of shredders and scale junkies so there is no point in me posting to them since I don't play that kind of stuff. I think wholenote is a good place to post too. You will allways find A-Holes where ever you go. I seem to find more in the balls to the wall heavy rock, metal forums so I don't go there much. I must admit that every now and then someone will upload a take that needs so much work that It is a real challenge to say anything positive about it. I answer very carefully, I think the worst insult is to not show any interest and leave the guys post just hanging there unanswered by anyone.
I find it raises my level of playing when I hang on a forum where the quality of playing is high. It's funny. These guys will knock off a jam in ten minutes and I will practice for two hours a day for three weeks to put up my take of the same tune. I have to really stretch to get in their ball park, great practice.
These are the tunes i have uploaded so far if you care to listen. The jazz piece, martys maiden was a bear, the whole thing is in 7sus4s' which are tough to play over for me. What the heck, there are gonna be clams in our playing, we are just learning so lets give ourselves pats on the back for how far we have come and screw the guys who put us down.

But you would all agree that there are people making money from playing and singing who should not be payed a cent, I think.
