Every time i go away on holiday i really miss my guitar so i have been looking for a little travel guitar.I just wonderd if anyone here has got a guitalale.I was also wondering about new strings for it.I would guess that it just has regular nylon strings cut short.

I bought a Baby Taylor to use while traveling in our coach and used it for a while but for me it didn't work very well.
I have these bit fat sausage fingers and it just felt awkward to me. The tone was also a bit on the timid size but for a small guitar it was ok.
I know people love these little things but it just didn't work out for me.

Tacoma makes a guitar called the Papoose which qualifies as a guitalele. They were a great little guitar but since Fender bought them out
and moved them back east I don't know what they are like now.
Yamaha also makes a guitalele although I have never seen one of them.

It is a yamaha G1 that i was thinking of buying.Did you tune your guitalale exactly like a guitar ie E,A,D,G,B,E or did you tune it like a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret?

I tuned it to A D G C E A, the 5th fret tuning. It is a rather pleasant sound.
There are a lot of guitalele videos on Youtube to listen to.
Some pretty darn good players too.

I have been watching people playing them on youtube and i have to say they do look good fun.A guy i work with once brought his uke in and i played with it for hours i couldnt put it down.
