That sounds to me like a public performance - more than I could do, but then I don't have your talent - seriously. I bet being able to do that was really your first step, and then actually being asked by the man himself to accompany him would have made it less daunting than an open mic performance, where no one actually asks you to play, and you have to 'put yourself out there' and take whatever comes your way in audience reaction.
I'm really pleased that you finally made it on-stage - and that you even enjoy it!
