I have version 2010.5 of Band in a Box....haven't really used it. I want to be able to use it basically so I can see the chords and lyrics of songs, and be able to use it to help me with my rhythm. For instance, I want to have a BIAB file that has the chords and words to a song, and allow me to change the beats per minute (i.e., 4/4 time, 80 beats per minute). I don't need any melody, harmony, voices, etc, etc) - Just the words, chords and tempo.
I need that info to scroll as I practice the song. There are so many options in BIAB that I am totally confused. Hopefully there is a forum thread here or somewhere that can help me. I posted something similar in the official Band in a Box forum but it doesn't seem to get much action so I don't know if I'll get a reply.
Thanks.

You probably wont. Many use them to help acquire progressions for ideas and a good drum aid. Also great for improv ideas.

OldManGuitarNewbie,
I believe if you are in the window where it shows the notes (staff) and chords above the notes, you can also see the lyrics. It should also scroll horizontally. The tempo can be easily changed from the front panel. I tried to confirm this, but we had a power hit the other night and it blew out my hard drive.

I snipped this from BIAB "help". Searched for "adding lyrics". See which version I have of BIAB in my first post, your's might be different:
You may already have the lyrics to your song typed into a word processor, nicely formatted with font/color/bold choices etc. Previously, you would need to retype them into Band-in-a-Box and would lose your formatting. Now you can simply Copy/Paste them to/from your word processor. This allows you to quickly add lyrics to any Band-in-a-Box song.
You can open this window by choosing Window | Lyric Document Window, or pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L. In addition, if "Auto-open lyrics window for songs with lyrics" is set to true in the Lyric Window Options dialog (Opt. | Preferences [Big Lyrics]), the Lyric Document Window will open up automatically when the song is loaded, and close when the next song is loaded.
To use the window, type or paste in text from a word processor. You can select fonts and colors as you would in a word processor. Since the data is stored in RTF format, it should look very similar to the appearance it would have in WordPad.
