Just wondering. Does the material and shape the electric guitar's body and neck are made out of make a difference in sound?

HI
The material and construction techniques do make quite a difference. Different timbers have different tonal qualities.

Ah. I knew that material does play a big factor on acoustics. Just wasnt sure on electrics since they use pickups.

There are many different factors in the signal chain, even gauge and material of the type of pick you may use - or fingers versus nails

I'm not sure how much the shape of the guitar matters, but the way the wood is cut is important, density of the wood has a definite effect... burl's and maple's being very dense and "bright" as opposed to softer woods sounding "warmer". Metals used can also have an effect, Brass nuts and bridge saddles are associated with more sustain while Stainless steel frets give a guitar a very bright tone.
Remember, wherever you go... there you are.

the density of the wood or woods used changes the tonal quality of any instrument .
I have been studying woods and the sound quality but I haven't given much thought to the metals used .I have changed to bone saddles and brass bridge pins on the acoustics I have but haven't given a lot of thought to the metals on an electric . thanks for the info .
one day I will learn to play this thing .......then won't you be suprised
