Here's one I wrote the other day - it's the usual 'any style, mash, change, add, not use, ignore totally' deal for the words - if you can fit the words into some music that's fantastic - tunefulness, finger-flubs, hiss etc do not matter at all. The italic lines and inside the brackets are alternatives you add or use if you want - switching lines around slightly is a good way of fitting the lines to music in a way that flows with your music.

Just have a go if you think you can - or even if you don't think you can.

Woah eddie! What a killer song you made! Are you pleased with it? You should be - I am. When I wrote it I could've chosen any other American city as it didn't have to rhyme so I thought I'd dangle the bait and it looks like I landed a song! Thanks for doing that - it's so well put together, and in record time too. Well done.

I did blow my lyric in spots but no more energy to try again.

I hope you liked the lyric mods as well. i did notice that the chords change positions did not stay in the right place even after I relocated them. ??????

I think there is more magic to come

I think you have to put dots....C....G.......between the chords to make them stay where you want them over the words. That's the only way I've found to anchor them where you want them to stay. I always say that people should adapt the words to fit with their music and how they want to sing it, so there's no problem about any of that.

Corrections needed. Capo on 5th basic chords are G C D or no Capo and C F G .

Great collab, very good lyrics from Carol and a very good rendition from Eddiez. But then I would expect no less from either one of these two great members.

Just a theory question - I know I should work it out on the guitar but then only I would know the answer - if it was capo at 1 would the chords be DGA?
Or if capo'd at 3 would the chords be EAB?

And if you wanted to have different but harmonically ok chords, say for picking out a melody line over the rhythm guitar, where would you capo, and what would the underlying chords be?

CFG other chords that can show up are Gsus4 3100xx - Csus4 3103xx - Cadd9 01003x one example.

If capo on 1
You would have to play a lot of # chords or bar chords

If capo on 3
EAD

You're right, Eddie, but I'd write the Capo 3 chords as ADE just to keep them in the same I-IV-V order. Might confuse otherwise.

Very nicely done. Lyrics had that soft story touch and vocals nailed the feel of the thoughts of the writer.
