Just have a go if you think you can - or even if you don't think you can.
Tennessee Rain
v1.
The sun is setting in Chicago
But it's raining in Tennessee
I said goodbye to the one I love
I hope she waits for me
v2
This life ain't worth the price I pay
This life is killing me
I said goodbye to the one I love
Now she's far away from me
Bridge/Chorus
Oh oh Tennessee
What can I do
I gotta break free
Oh oh Tennessee
This life is killing me
v3.
Trains and planes always take me away
(But) What can you do, there's bills to pay
My heart is breaking inside of me
And it's raining in Tennessee
v4.
I wonder what she's doing tonight
Does she ever wonder if I'm alright
Or is she out, and having fun
Dancing all night with some other one
Bridge/Chorus
Oh oh Tennessee
What can I do
I gotta get free
Oh oh Tennessee
My heart is breaking
And my life's not free
This life is taking my love from me
And it's raining (down here) in Tennessee
Outro
The sun has set in Chicago
It's still raining in Tennessee
I said goodbye to the one I love
Now she's far away from me
Oh oh Tennessee
(Yeah), I sit here looking at the falling rain
And wonder if I'll (ever) see her again
Oh oh Tennessee
I wonder, will she wait for me/ I wonder if she'll wait for me.

Looking forward to hearing what people come up with. I think Eddie's voice and a Hoagy Carmichael type tune would suit it well.

You are most welcome. When I read the lyric, I knew i had to be part of this one.
Am I pleased? OMG
I did blow my lyric in spots but no more energy to try again.
I hope you liked the lyric mods as well. i did notice that the chords change positions did not stay in the right place even after I relocated them. ??????

Just a theory question - I know I should work it out on the guitar but then only I would know the answer - if it was capo at 1 would the chords be DGA?
Or if capo'd at 3 would the chords be EAB?
And if you wanted to have different but harmonically ok chords, say for picking out a melody line over the rhythm guitar, where would you capo, and what would the underlying chords be?

If you had no capo at all
CFG other chords that can show up are Gsus4 3100xx - Csus4 3103xx - Cadd9 01003x one example.
If capo on 1
You would have to play a lot of # chords or bar chords
If capo on 3
EAD
If on the fifth
G C D
Think I got that right

Very nicely done. Lyrics had that soft story touch and vocals nailed the feel of the thoughts of the writer.
