Hi, I have big fingers. I`m starting in this business by myself. Im practicing every day everytime I pass in front of my guitar. I allready have the cayus in my fingers. Playing chord with my Palmer wich has a 2 inches wide nuck no big deal, but when I try to play with my Gibson Maestro wich has a 1.75 inches wide nuck some fingers touch other strings. I want to play electric guitar in a future is there any problem with my fingers for that, or are there any electric guitars with wide nucks out there?

G'day Mr C, Welcome to the forum.

Everyone has thick fingers when they start, even playing wide necked guitars. They seem to thin down as you get more experience.
My suggestion is to do your serious learning on the Palmer, just give yourself time with the electric. As your skill increases you'll be enjoying what you've learned on the wide neck and playing most of it on the narrow neck anyway.
And something else that doesn't get mentioned all that often, experienced players have learned to choose chords that suit their fingers instead of being stuck with the one shape for each chord that beginners learn. (They also use much more of the fretboard, but that comes with time too.)
So don't get disheartened, and don't order a specially built guitar just yet. And don't give youself big hurdles to jump. It all happens with time and patience.
Keep in touch
Karcey

I agree w/ karcey as well. The more you play the more your fingers lose weight lol. But in all seriousness, I had thick fingers too. Once you play for a while you tend to forget that little detail. But it shouldn't stop you, just play what you want. Yngwie Malmsteen gained a little weight over the years but he's credited as one of the most fastest guitar players in the world...... Don't just go for speed, mind you:winkthumb:

How long until I am truly happy? Or is this a sad fantasy I want reality?

I've got big fat 'ol finger too. And my pinky is really curved in from being broken years ago. Makes playing some chords impossible to play, so I improvise the best I can. I usually play a lot of open guitar tunings which makes playing a lot more easier for me. Also gives me a unique sound that most of my guitar playing friends have never tried or even heard before.
