About a year ago I posted another version of this song which goes by a number of names - Manha du Carnaval, Black Orpheus or Day in the Life of Fool. I've been working on it lately and I guess it's coming along. Although some days I wonder if this is progressing or not.:dunno:

This is a rough take with flubs and buzzes and other things to add character ;). Let me know what you think.

Doug,
Your on a roll. Nicely done. I listened to Cocamo's that was very good as well.

:claping: ... nice one, Doug. What a great tune. My only advice would be: keep those bass notes ringing on longer.

Thanks very much everyone.
Kirk, I re-listened and I guess there is a feeling of hurriedness to the piece. I'll try to let those bass notes ring longer. Might be difficult to do that while keeping the same tempo. Maybe just shifting my attention from the melody to the bass a bit might help.
Thanks very much for the pointer.

Ah, I see what you mean Kirk. Bossa's generally have an alternating bass line and I kinda ignored it here. I'm practicing the piece trying to play open A's and E's as much as possible - or at least balancing between the melody and the bass lines. Thanks again.

Very nice playing Doug. Lovely tune.
When all else fails, read the instructions.
