Here's the lyrics:
Fishin With Dad
V1
When I was only six, Dad taught me how to fish
He let me have his grampa’s fishin’ poles
He showed me how to hook ‘em, how to clean ‘em, how to cook ‘em
Together we hit all the fishing holes.
V2
When I got strong enough to row we bought a little boat
And put in at the local public lake
The hours passed like minutes, we always got our limits
And you should see the ones that got away.
Ch
Fishin’ With Dad, Fishin’ With Dad,
I remember all the good times, and all the fun we had
I’m longin’ for the days with my favorite fishin’ pal
I really liked Fishin’ With Dad
V3
Then I got out of school and moved out on my own
I ventured far and rarely came back home
I had my own ambitions, there was no time for fishin’
And Dad, he did his fishin’ all alone
V4
Then one day he got sick - they said he wouldn’t make it
I went to see him in that chilly room
He was really weak, but he found the strength to speak
He said: ‘I sure enjoyed fishin’ with you’
V5
Now I’m an old and lonely guy staring at the walls
I sit here by myself - it’s just so sad
And as I think about my life there’s one thing I regret
I shoulda done more Fishin’ With Dad
Fishin With Dad

Brings back memories Johnny. When we went fishing it was always out in the boat. We went first thing in the morning and stayed out until dark. We weren't allowed to talk. We had bring sandwiches (gross). And, we were terrified when we had to ask for a potty run! So much easier for the guys. My sister "spilled her gingerale once".
The good old days.
