I have always loved this song, but there is one chord that presents a stumbling block to me. It's the D/B chord where the thumb presses the fifth string. Guess my fingers are too short because I have to use an alternative fingering, but of course, it is a bit harder to switch to D/B in that case, but I am working on it. Too bad there isn't someway of putting something on the thumb so it can extend to play these types of chords.

Once you get more comfortable with playing the basic D chord with your last 3 fingers, grabbing the B with your index won't be a problem.

Playing a barre Bm7 there instead also does the same job, RClary. X24232 ... same notes. That F# on the 4th string is just another 3 of the D chord.
