Mp3 to midi?

Can i take a mp3 and make it into a midi so i can use it on guitar pro?Or will i have to tab it out myself?I just wanna place some mp3s in guitar pro so the tabs show up.Does that make sense to anyone? Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this done in anyway shape or form?

There isn't any software currently available that will do this gutter. You can do it with midi files to a certain degree but not mp3s. Looks like you've got a long night of transcribing ahead of you. Enjoy.

The technology just isn't there yet Gutter. There is some software around that tries to do it. I tried it but the results were even worse than those online language translators.
To an extent they work the same way as electronic tuners. They are at the stage where they can recognise the pitch and duration of simple and slow melody notes and convert to midi. But trying to recognise chords or fast lead solos, while ignoring drums, cymbals and vocals, etc. is way beyond their ability for now.

There are programs that can take individual tracks (like a vocal track) and convert it to MIDI. But as mentioned above, there is nothing that can separate the guitar, bass, vocals, keyboard, drums, etc to be able to tab out just the guitar part.

Maybe someday, but we aren't quite there yet.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
