When I record my guitar, I get TONS of crackling... First I thought this was only the phones/speakers... but theres no crackling when I listen to music.
The crackling also stays when I've recorded, so everything I record crackle a lot...
I've tried switching cables, made sure it isn't the guitar or POD causing it.... could it be something with the soundcard? But if so, how come listening to music works fine...?
How does it sound when you just monitor the guitar throught the speakers. Just make sure the input is not muted in the playback volume control and adjust the volume high enough to hear. If it sounds fine, but the recording has crackle then I would say that your recording volume is too high and you are clipping the recorded waveform.
Use Audacity to record and make sure the wave amplitude for never exceeds about 80% in the window in the loudest passages.
