  Rockin' VST's for free!

Today's useful links are real beauties, , I thought of Jim's quest for the perfect tone when I heard this in action.
Voxengo Tube Amp adds a lovely valve tone that can be pushed to crunch if needed, just like the real deal
I really liked it used in a chain with a dash of tremolo in front, and some classic reverb after. If you want to get raunchy it sounds great paired with the 'Tube Screamer' VST that I came across here along with more classic effects sims, and even Fender Twin and Marshall JCM 900 amp sims!
They might not look too pretty, but they sound excellent. If your recording program can host VST's then I must really urge you to try these.

Regards
Mick

I use the Voxendo Boogex (freebie) and it has the most increadible clean and slightly distorted tones. It doesn't do heavy distortions very well (but I have yet to hear a plugin that does) but the less distorted sounds are amazing.

Nice stuff going on with the Voxengo plugins. Thanks guys for those links!

For Audacity users, I copped several of the freebies available at Voxengo and they work perfectly.

If you try them and they don't seem to work, verify if you installed the "zip" or "MSI-Installer" Audacity package. If you have installed the zip pack, they may won't work. Just download the MSI package, uninstall the zip and install the MSI pack.

I can never get free plug in's after download to go nto my VST Cubase plug in folder. They will show on the plugin information page in Cubase but when I try to use one when I select the effects button they do not show.

When downloading the plugins did you choose to have them saved in your Cubase VST folder? What about when installing (or unzipping) them?

Can you give the full folder path location for one particular plugin .dll file that will not load in Cubase?
