New to el. guitar, need help!
Hi everyone!
Am new to el guitar. I have played the acoustic guitar sence 10 years ago but now i got interested in the el. guitar so i bought a nice el. guitar and a lightsnake cable to plug it in my laptop. I also bought 2 studio monitors, behringer MS40. I got also the amplitube, i plugged everything BUT... but the sound was terrible -if there was any sound- it was like a really really really bad sound that came out of the speakers, alot of humming like air and the "sound" was delaying too.
I have absoult zero experience in cabels and music stuffs. i used to play acoustic as i said. I dont know where is the problem, is it the monitors, the lightsnake cabel or something that i have to do in windows or the amplitube software!!!!
can anyone here help me please? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
Thank you!

Enmascarado,
A little more information is necessary. If you will give us a detailed explaination of how you have everything setup, where everything is plugged, I am sure that someone will be able to help.

I had to google the Lightsnake cables since I'd never heard of it.... That's very interesting.
I'd say the problem isn't likely in the monitors (if you have them plugged into the output of your sound card, they should work just fine).
My suspect would be in the Lightsnake cable settings. What kind of options does it have?
Also, are you running Amplitube in standalone mode or as a VST inside of a recording program?

Is the lightsnake cable the one that has the small LEDs that light up when you're playing if it is the lights have been known to cause electrical interference, I don't know if it would cause that level of interference but it could be part of the problem.

I think they have lights, but it also has USB on one end and 1/4" on the other. So it's basically an audio interface build into a cable.

Hi Tekker and thannk you for responding.
I connected the studio monitors to my labtops headphones output since i dont have an external sound card, its just the labtop. The lightsnake is connected to the labtop with a USB port, in the other end of the lightsnakes cable i connected it to the guitar. In the sound properties i choosed the USB(lightsnake) as an recording input, and the speakers as output.
My speakers är Behringer MS40, there is a cable between the 2 speakers. another cable with 2 jacks, one red and the other is black which i connected to line 2 (analog inputs in the right speaker) the end of this cable with the 2 jacks end in the labtop headphones input.
I use amplitube stand alone.
I start playing the guitar but the sound is not clear at all.
I tryed to record with the usual windows xp recording program, its was really a good clear sound.
so i dont know where is the problem!!!!!
here is the lightsnake proparities!!!
Lightsnake USB Instrument Cable – STUSBG10
This LightSnake cable is a 1/4” to USB cable that is ideal for recording guitars or other musical instruments on your computer. The LightSnake instrument cable is basically a “Soundcard in a Cable” that allows you to record digital audio directly onto a computer. It is as simple as connecting the 1/4” mono plug of the LightSnake cable to an instrument and then connecting the USB end to a computer USB port. This is a true USB plug and play connection. No additional drivers are needed for most operating systems. An embedded 16 Bit Analog to Digital Converter with audio signal boost ensures extremely low audio loss and 48/44.1 KHz Sampling Rate provides a high audio quality while recording. The HSDL (Host Side Data Loss) Noise Reduction function prevents any unwanted noise when converting the audio signal to digital format and saving to a computer.
