Won't save as a MP3

Hi movers and shakers

I have a problem , some might say they knew that long ago

I use Audacity but can't save as a MP3 fr some reason , I have the Lame.dll file and every thing was working just fine . For some reason this just started a week ago and now wont save as ..

This is my usual process of recording ..

1 / Record music in Kristal

2 / save piece in recording folder

3 / Open Audacity

4/ Retrieve piece

5 / Save as a MP3

Step 5 won't play the game any ideas on why , or how to fix the problem ???

TRhanks in advance

Simple fix, download CDex (google it), its about 300K, and on the right hand side, theres a tool button "convert Compressed audio to WAV"...

As for audacity, well i have no idea... Unless you've updated something else (windows media player or smoething similar) and that has tinkered with the libraries or something...

on my computer anyway..... Its Lame_enc.DLL
not lame.dll... Perhaps reinstalling audacity over the top of the existing install, might repair the missing/corrupt/changed file

If I'm using Audacity for anything, I render it to .wav file, then use Switch to convert to mp3. Works quite well.

Hilch, are you trying to save or export from Audacity? It will only export to MP3, far as I know.

Maybe these guys then Hilch.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/

They have a forum and a wiki. I guarantee there will be some real expert dudes in there. Or just save all of your projects and then re-install it. (the universal fix for all things Windows, lol!) If you are installing a later version BTW, for example the latest 1.3 beta, it won't open your 1.2 projects.

Hilch,

Maybe you should delete your lame_enc.dll file and re-download a new one and try exporting. Maybe the lame_enc.dll file has somehow corrupted. Just an idea.

Oh well after much frustration I did what Clancy said ..

Deleted what I had and and then re-down loaded it ..

I really didn't want to do that but it was the easiest way of getting it to do what I wanted ..

Thanks for the replies every one

Cheers
