Pick Up Dilemma

So I bought this used guitar and ajusted the height of the pick ups. However, now the pick ups keep sliping out of place tward the strings. I have no idea why this is happening so, naturaly I have no idea how to fix it. The guitar is still playable but only if i'm sitting or standing still. I would really like to move around while I play so any help I could get would be really appreciated.

thanks for the help!

My guess is there's no springs surrounding the installation or adjustment screws. I photo would be great, even the kind of guitar we're talking about.

Each pickups should be installed w/2 screws, one at each end of the pickup. If you remove the pickguard and flip it over, each of these screws should have a spring around it on the underside. The springs are what maintains the tension as you adjust the pickup height. Sounds like you're missing the springs. If you can grab the pickup with your fingers and move it up easily I'd bet there's no springs.

I looked under the pickguard about a month ago and I didn't see any springs on the screws so I bet that's it. Thank's for your help Ultimate Garage Band. I realy appreciate it.

no, it's a different spring for humbuckers, at least the ones mounted w/a bezel. Some humbuckers have 2 height adjustment screws, one on each side in between the coils, and others have 3 screws so the pickup can't pivot or rock like they can on a 2 screw set up. They'll have 2 screws on one side and one screw on the other.
