Probably not. Either the strings are old and need to be replaced or it wasn't set up before it left the store. Go to the tech forum and read through how to check for the proper string height. It could also be that you put new strings of a lighter gauge on it which changed the tension.

Guitars don't come set up from the factory. I'd take it back and insist they set it up.

Did that Schecter come with a price guaranty?--I was just at guitar center yesterday-they were having a huge sale--pretty sure i saw the schecter for less than what you said you paid?---btw too bad if any of you missed the sale--they had some really great prices on guitars , amps and accessories, saw a squire telecaster--normally marked 169$ go out for 99$--standard teles were going for 299$ not the catalog list of 399$. wish I had gone in with a few hundred--I would have bout a new (larger ) amp.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
